Hog Island Wool

|
Thought of as a Rustic Fiber, our Hog Island wool comes from the 200 registered females owned by Walnut Hill Farms. There are 8 black sheep and the rest are considered white. The fibers vary in staple length and produce a lofty yarn meant for sweaters, socks or any practical cold weather garment.
The wool has been carded once and is ready to spin. If you wish to try a batt of wool, we have them available. Just let me know in the checkout area. The second carding is done in shop using a Louet Classic Elite.
20% of proceeds go to the preservation of this truly American breed.
