Mission Statement... To get as close to England, Ireland
and Scotland as possible without the cost of the ticket or hotel.
Suzoo's is a family owned business and has been around since my first son was born in 2003. The name Suzoo's is a play on words...Susan who takes the kids to the zoo. Suzoo was easier to say than Susan. The name stuck and when it was time to pick a name for the rug hooking studio, Suzoo's Wool Works was the name. We no longer sell rug hooking wool or tools. Somehow the yarn gave birth to more yarn and we ended up becoming a yarn shop. Since I have taken over the shop, we have transitioned in to a fiber arts studio. We cater to knitting, crochet, felting, spinning and knitters looms. I have joined up with the South Coast Spinners and Weavers Guild as well. It's is important to not just sell the tools but also have a good understanding of the different crafts we offer at Suzoo's.
I have a double major in Ancient Greek Art & Ancient Civilizations and a degree in Communications Design. Neither of these degrees have anything to do with knitting or spinning. It's all the experiences I have had before, during and after those degrees that come to the table. Yes, haggis is kind of gross to talk about but not all that bad to eat. You will find more crochet in Austria than knitting. Orkney may be part of Scotland, but they aren't truly Scottish. Just ask them. Faroe wool doesn't shrink in hot water! Kinetic (or hands on) learning is the best way to learn. At Suzoo's we give you the tools and the tips. You then become your own master of knitting or crochet.
